Galaxy Online — A New Beginning is a real-time sci-fi MMO you play in your browser. No install. No download. Open a tab on your PC, Mac, Linux, phone, or tablet, and you're in.

Build your first colony in 30 minutes. It keeps growing while you sleep. Trader, hunter, pirate, diplomat — pick your path through a galaxy still recovering from the silence of a machine god that broke its promise.

## What you'll do

- Settle planets — build a colony from scratch, balance natives and colonists, grow tax revenue and industry
- Command a fleet — modular ship fitting, role-based combat, real-time hyperspace travel
- Trade and craft — player-driven economy, blueprint discovery, alternate materials, salvage
- Pick a side — six rival factions, independent reputation tracks, antagonism cascades, a hidden seventh
- Compete — fleet tournaments with ELO matchmaking, blueprint rewards, division ladders
- Hunt or be hunted — bounty boards, insurance, piracy, the criminal flag system

No one-true-path. The game gives you tools; you decide what kind of player you want to be.

## The story behind it

In 2011, I built my first game ever — a spaceship tournament title called *Galaxy Online: The Tournament*. It got as far as a 500-player playtest before mobile killed its Windows-only stack, and I had to shelve it.

Fifteen years later, the tech finally caught up. I rebuilt the whole thing from scratch as a modern WebGL browser MMO and expanded it from a tournament arena into the full space MMO I'd originally sketched out back in 1996 — a galaxy you actually live in, not just fight in.

Some ideas just need time to grow.
